Université Montaigne-Bordeaux 3

Each year, two students from York University are chosen to be English language teaching assistants (lecteur-lectrice) for one academic year in Bordeaux, France, and participate in the exchange Program with l'Université Michel de Montaigne-Bordeaux 3.

Eligibility

  • Anglophone students having graduated by June 2013 with a BA degree from the Department of French Studies
  • Students who have already lived or studied in France may also apply
  • Minimum "B+" average in French courses (or equivalent)
  • Students from outside the Department of French Studies and with advance competence in French may also apply but are notified that, in the event of a substantial number of applications from well-qualified LA&PS/French Studies students, the latter will receive priority ranking

Conditions of Employment

The "lecteur-lectrice" will direct English conversation groups at l'Université Michel de Montaigne- Bordeaux 3 for approximately $1400-1500 per month subject to change according to exchange rates. Salary: 957.21 euros/month (approximately $1465.00).
