Change My Program

The information contained in Part A is common to all students who wish to change from their current program to a new program.

Note: Normally new students may not change their program prior to completing one academic session in the Faculty (i.e. Fall/Winter or Summer). You may change your program on-line.

You must submit the request form to the Registrar's Office. You may fax your request form or submit it in-person to the Registrar's Office drop box located in the lobby of the Bennett Centre for Student Services.

Note: You must follow the requirements that are in place for the academic session in which you enter the new program. If program requirements change after you enter the program, you may opt to follow new requirements. For further information:

  • Please refer to Academic Programs on the right menu.
  • Please refer to the Undergraduate Calendar for information regarding LA&PS Faculty rules.

Prior to submitting a change of program request, consider the following:

  • Your eligibility to enter the Faculty, degree and major program you are requesting (see Part B below).
  • Your individual goals, interests and abilities.
  • Seek advice from the Schools/Departments offering the programs you are considering, and meet with the Undergraduate Program Directors or Coordinators to discuss program options and how they relate to your academic and career goals.
  • If due to your current academic standing you are required to change your program and are blocked from enrolment, you are encouraged to seek advising through the Centre for Student Success, Office for Continuing Students, 150 Atkinson Building.

If you have previously been granted transfer credits, you may be reassessed for major credit if applicable. Normally the number of transfer credits received will not change, but how the credits fit into the new program may change.

Notes:

1. If you are submitting a change of program and are moving from another Faculty to LA&PS your request will be processed for the Fall/Winter session only.

2. If you are submitting a change or program request and are changing to a new degree, your request will be processed for the Fall/Winter session only.
