Advising

All Children's Studies students will receive group and individual advising to help them select appropriate courses for their programs. Each student will be assigned an advisor.

Students entering the Children's Studies Program with advanced standing from Arts and Technology Colleges may, but will not necessarily, be granted some course exemptions for optional courses. However, they will not be granted exemptions for the core courses in the Children's Studies Program because these reflect the disntictive philosophy of the Program.

Note: All Children's Studies Program Majors and Minors should preferably enroll in the "A" section of AP/HUMA 1970 9.0A, The Worlds of Childhood, because this section of the course includes the Shoreham Public School / Vanier College Literacy Partnership and a fieldwork project component, both fundamental to the Children's Studies Program.

Before making an appointment with an advisor, please download the appropriate form (below) on which to fill out which courses you already have and to "pencil in" which courses you still need.
