Research Accounting
Research Accounting's mandate is to work in partnership with York's research community in the post-award financial administration and reporting of its grants and contracts. Research Accounting provides quality financial services including monitoring research grants and contracts for compliance with York University policies and granting agency rules, providing financial analyses, advice and external financial reporting for the research community.
Research Accounting is responsible for the following:
- Setting up of internal and external cost centres for research grants and contracts
- Communication to researchers on financial status of grants and contracts
- Providing advice and assistance on University policies, granting agency guidelines and the eReports financial system
- Monitoring variance analysis of research grants and contracts
- Financial reporting to granting agencies
- Distribution and allocation of overhead and course releases to faculties and centres
