This opportunity provides a grant for LA&PS full-time YUFA faculty members who are in the preliminary stages or new development of a collaborative research project or partnership initiative that is international in its focus. Please note that if it is an existing research project you must demonstrate new and innovative international activities. The research plan may include projects that extend beyond individual research collaboration, summer institutes, international colloquia, field research with undergraduate and graduate students. The proposal must include a minimum of one partner/collaborator from a country other then Canada/United States. The Ad hoc Committee is a last resort source for funding travel to conferences. To provide full-time faculty members and librarians with travel grants to conferences at which a substantial presentation is being made. International Conference Travel Fund (LA&PS) - Aug 9, Nov 8, Mar 7
Full-time YUFA faculty members in LA&PS and who are cross-appointed with other faculties are invited to apply for funding to disseminate their work at a conference, refereed panel and keynote address outside of Canada/United States. In the case of CLAs and SRCs, travel must occur within the term of the appointment. We encourage applications from junior faculty members. Matching Funds Program(FGS)
The Faculty of Graduate Studies will on occasion match funds with a faculty member or unit to support employment of a graduate student. Students under this programme have been used to assist with conference and project planning, to provide research support, and to assist in computer labs and resource centres. LA&PS Funding for Research Events and Outreach Activities - rolling deadline
LA&PS has a small fund to support research events and outreach activities undertaken by LA&PS community members. Applications from others at York will be considered, but given secondary priority.. To submit a request for funding, please complete an application form and submit it electronically, via fax, or in hard copy to Janet Friskney (email@example.com). In general, such requests will receive a response within 14 business days.
LA&PS Book Publication Subvention Program - rolling deadline
YUFA faculty (full-time, senior scholars, and retired faculty still eligible to teach) associated with the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies are invited to apply to this program if the scholarly book publisher with which they are publishing a work requires a subvention in order to offset the costs of production. The maximum funding that can be requested through this program is $1000.

Leave Fellowship (Sabbatical) (YUFA) - Jan. 15
A Leave Fellowship Fund (Article 19.30 of the YUFA Collective Agreement) of $250,000 is available to provide peer-adjudicated additional grants of up to 10% of academic base salary to sabbaticants. The grants shall be subject to the conditions set out in Article 20.17 (b) of the YUFA Collective Agreement. Applicants may apply for amounts of up to 10% of their academic base salary.
