Department of Sociology Undergraduate Student Award for Excellence

2012 Recipient: Jordana Reinstein

The Department of Sociology's contribution to the world of sociological thought and research is to offer our students a sociology of engagement; a critical approach to scholarship that challenges assumptions, and in so doing, aims for greater social justice and an appreciation that history – our own and that of others around the world – has a lasting impact on the present.

The Department of Sociology Undergraduate Award for Excellence (DSUAE) will be given to an undergraduate student majoring in Sociology in their fourth year who best demonstrates our commitment to publicly engaged sociology. This student will demonstrate academic excellence and community engagement. The amount of the award is $300.
