YUFA Tenure Stream Appointments

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-stream position at the Rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Global Sociology. We seek a scholar with a strong sociological background who advances conceptual frameworks that address trans-society/transborder formations and processes. Examples of areas of specialization that could be compatible with this position are religion, governance, inequality, regulatory frameworks and sociological theoretical perspectives from the Global South.

The successful candidate will show promise of excellence in research, publications and teaching, and will be expected to offer courses as part of both the undergraduate and graduate curricula. A PhD in Sociology is required and should be completed no later than July 1, 2012.
