- SOARING with LA&PS
SOARING (Success, Opportunities, Achievements and Realizing Them) is a program designed to recognize and reward students who take the initiative to make the most of their undergraduate experience by contributing to the LA&PS Faculty, York University and external community through extra-curricular involvement. SOARING rewards students for their involvement both on campus and on campus. Enrol in the SOARING program today and start earning points by getting involved. And remember, it's never too late to join!

Do you know that there are students in some of your classes with a disability who are unable to take notes for themselves? Do you have an amazing note-taking ability? Are you the type of student who likes to help others? We have a perfect program for you. Become an LA&PS Volunteer Peer Note Taker!
The LA&PS Peer Note Taker program is coordinated by Counselling & Disability Services (CDS).

- LA&PS Student Ambassador program

Enhance your communication, presentation and networking skills. As an Ambassador, you can represent LA&PS at events, receptions, conferences, workshops and campus tours.
- Mentorship for Success Program
The Mentorship for Success Program is a peer-to-peer program that pairs experienced upper-year students ("peer mentors") with students that have requested to be paired with a mentor ("peer mentees").
The Peer Mentorship program provides opportunities for "peer mentees" to build friendships, receive insight about campus activities, and navigate a smooth transition to university - particularly for mentees that are first-year. This program also gives upper year students the opportunity to develop various skills by helping out members of the LA&PS and York community.
- Workshops

LA&PS offers a variety of workshops that will help you succeed academically, personally and professionally. Workshops are offered throughout the year (including summer and reading weeks) and cover a wide range of topics including procrastination, volunteering and exam preparation. LA&PS has teamed up this year with the Career Centre, Counselling Services and other departments to provide an even wider selection of relevant workshops.
- COACH

Come On and Come home (COACH) is a project designed to assist LA&PS students who are returning to their studies after an absence of one or more years. Returning students will be matched with a COACH guide who will act as a point of contact and resource of information at York.
- Colleges

LA&PS has eight affiliated colleges at Keele campus, including its newest college - New College. Colleges offer a variety of social, academic and professional activities in which to get involved. Each student is affiliated with a college depending on their academic program and/or residence. Visit your college's Web site to find out more.
- Volunteer

Volunteering is a way to give back to your community while at the same time building valuable transferrable skills. There are many volunteer opportunities from mentoring to giving your time to outside organizations.
