Volunteer Program Requirements

Our Volunteer Programs are designed to enhance our students' university experience and to further develop their skill sets. For the upcoming academic year, we have enhanced our training curriculum to provide our volunteers with academic development.

Active Student Success Leaders, COACH Guides, who complete all of the requirements below, will receive a Certificate of Recognition signed by the Associate Dean of Students and the Manager of Student Engagement (LA&PS).

The following components must be completed by successful applicants:

  1. Core Program Component
    • Completion of a two-hour LA&PS training session on Ambassador or Mentorship 101
    • Condition: Students must attend one training session
      • Training sessions will be provided from September to December.
      • Students who cannot attend any of these training sessions must indicate that the time slots provided are in conflict with their schedules
      • In this case, an alternative training session will be provided

  2. Academic Component
    • Completion of all three of the following workshops:
      • Library 100
      • Time Management
      • Avoiding Plagiarism and Understanding Academic Honesty
    • Conditions will be explained when students are admitted to their respecitve volunteer program.

  3. Academic Requirement
    • Students must maintain a cumulative 6.0 GPA
