I've Been Admitted to Liberal Arts and Professional Studies

Next Steps...

If you have just received an offer of admission for the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies from the Office of Admissions, you should have also received a brochure outlining your next step in order to enroll in courses.

Step 1 - Accept Your Offer of Admission

Please confirm your decision to attend York University on line at www.yorku.ca/myfile . The Office of Admissions reserves the right to withdraw your Offer of Admission if you have not confirmed your acceptance and booked your appointment by the deadline indicated in your letter.

Step 2 - Book Your Enrolment Appointment

Please contact us in order to book your enrolment appointment. You can book your appointment online at www.yorku.ca/myfile or phone the Faculty of LA&PS Appointment Booking Line at 416- 736-5011 to book your Enrolment Appointment.

If you reside outside of the central Ontario region and are unable to come to campus to attend your appointment, please book an alternate appointment online at www.yorku.ca/myfile (system will automatically book you an alternate based on address) or contact us at 416-736-5011 or via e-mail at laps@yorku.ca to make alternate arrangements (e-mail correspondence) to complete enrolment.

It is very important to book an enrolment appointment or make alternate arrangements as this initiates the course enrolment process for new students. Enrolment takes place on a first come, first served basis at York. It is therefore important to contact us about alternate enrolment and to provide all necessary information in order to complete enrolment in a timely fashion.

Attention New Year One Students (eg. High School Admits and Mature Students)

Once you have booked your appointment, you may wish to review the enrolment kit online (see Quick Links) . The kit consists of The New Students' Handbook and First Year Course Selection Guide. Read your Enrolment kit prior to your appointment. An enroment kit will be provided at your enrolment appointment.

What happens at the Enrolment Appointment?

All new students at York attend an Enrolment Appointment to select their courses. Attending this appointment ensures that you make informed decisions about your course selection. At your appointment you will:

  • discuss course selection
  • learn about the requirements of degrees and majors
  • determine the cost of your tuition and how and when to pay your fees
  • receive information about activating your e-mail account and student portal
  • receive information about how to pay a required enrolment deposit.

Upper Year and Transfer Students

Normally, your Enrolment kit is given to you at your advising appointment. The kit consists of The New Students' Handbook and an Enrolment, Fees and Regulations Guide, which are also available using the links on the right.

We look forward to hearing from you.
