Erika Wolf, is an assistant professor of art history at the University of Rochester. She recently completed a dissertation entitled "USSR in Construction: From Avant-Garde to Socialist Realist Practice". Current research projects include a history of Soviet photography and photographic theory from 1917 to 1941, and a study of John Heartfield and the German Communist mass media in the Soviet Union.
