Bryan D.Palmer, teaches in the Department of History, Queen's University, edits the journal Labour/Le Travail, and is currently writing a biography of the founder of American Trotskyism, James P. Cannon. His article on noir is part of a larger forthcoming study entitled Dark Cultures: Histories of the Night.
