Adrienne JohnsonAdrienne Johnson

Adrienne Johnson is a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada Postdoctoral Scholar at the Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University. She holds a masters degree in Geography from York University and doctorate in Geography from Clark University. Broadly, her research analyzes the politics of industry-led environmental governance mechanisms in (agro)extractive resource sectors in both the global south and north. While an MA student at York, her work examined the 'deradicalizing' politics of a well-known NGO active in Indonesia's palm oil sector. Adrienne's work has been published in Geoforum, Development and Change, and the Journal of Latin American Geography with funding from SSHRC, Land Politics Deal Initiative, Conference of Latin Americanist Geographers, and Clark University. Adrienne will join the University of San Francisco’s Environmental Studies Program as Assistant Professor in Fall 2017.
