Thank you for your interest in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies’ Bridging Program for Internationally Educated Professionals. 

We are now accepting applications for our first cohort of IEP HR Professionals!  **EXTENDED** The deadline to apply is March 28, 2012.

Program Entrance Requirements

To qualify for the program, IEPs must:

  • be a permanent resident, landed immigrant, or Canadian Citizen, and be living in Canada no longer than 3 years (2 years and under preferred);
  • reside in Ontario;
  • have a minimum of a recognized non-Canadian Bachelor's degree in HR or related business discipline (other degrees may be considered; please email a copy of your resume to the IEP office before applying);
  • have related professional work experience outside Canada
    (a minimum of 3 years is required); and
  • have a good command of the English language as proven by
    achieving CLB level 8 within the past 12 months. Click here for more information on how to obtain your CLB score.

Please complete the following steps when applying to our program:


Step 1 – Attend an information session :: make sure you qualify (January, February & March 2012)

We strongly encourage you to attend one of our information sessions before applying to the bridging program so that you know exactly what the program offers and whether or not you qualify. A list of evening and daytime information sessions (and a link to sign up to attend) can be found by clicking the "info sessions" button below.

If you are unable to attend an information session, please contact our office so we can pre-screen your qualifications before you apply. Email us a current copy of your resume and we will respond with our feedback.

Step 2 – Apply to York University using York's online application (*Extended* due date is March 28, 2012 :: applying earlier is preferred)

$90, non-refundable application fee. Payment can only be made via Visa or Mastercard.  

Complete the York Undergraduate online application. After you complete and submit the first page, you will be directed to a secure payment server in order to pay the $90 application fee via Visa or Mastercard.

Special instructions:
The York application is used for many undergraduate points of entry.  To ensure your application is appropriately identified for the IEP Bridging Program, please note the following details:

under 'Goal of Study'
- When do you wish to begin classes? Please choose September (Fall) 2012
- Choose 'OPTION 2: I wish to study towards a certificate' and then in the Certificate dropdown menu, select 'Certificate in Canadian Business for Internationally Educated Professionals'

Submit a copy of your online admissions receipt with all the required supporting documents to the Admissions office.  Follow the submission guidelines and checklist, and submit your original documents with the Cover Page provided on the guidelines document

NOTE: Your application is not considered complete and is not forwarded to the IEP Bridging Program office until you have submitted all the required documents.



Step 3 – Complete the IEP Bridging Program Online Information Form (*Extended* due date is March 28, 2012 :: applying earlier is preferred)

There is no additional fee for this application.

When to expect to hear from us:

Once all documents have been received, your application will be evaluated for admission to the program. Given the response to this new bridging program, it may take 6-12 weeks to receive a decision. The absolute latest you can expect to hear from us is by the end of May 2012.
