YORK UNIVERSITY EXPERTS READY TO WEIGH IN ON THE FEDERAL ELECTION

TORONTO, April 25, 1997 -- With an election call expected to come this weekend, York University offers the following experts to speak about various aspects of the upcoming federal election campaign.

  • Ken McRoberts, professor of political science, is one of Canada's top experts on Quebec politics and the relationship between Quebec and the rest of Canada. He can speak about national unity and questions related to the Quebec referendum. McRoberts has just published a new book titled Misconceiving Canada: The Struggle for National Unity (Oxford University Press: 1997), which examines the national unity debate over the past 40 years and the responses of the federal government to both Quebec referenda.
