Master of Financial Accountability (MFAc)
In what ways can the growing credit crisis or the collapse of the United States subprime mortgage market alter the regulatory and legislative terrain in which accounting professionals operate? What processes can be put into place to ensure transparency in financial reporting? How can we increase the effectiveness of information systems to make financial accountability more possible? These are some of the questions you'll explore as a student in York's new Master of Financial Accountability—the only program of its kind in Canada.
MFAc responds directly to the pressing need to adopt higher standards of financial accountability both in the private and public sectors. It will appeal to those working in accounting, financial reporting or related areas who have a professional designation (i.e. a CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) and wish to accelerate their career by acquiring specialized accounting expertise.
As a graduate of the program, you can expect to play a critical role in enhancing the quality of corporate governance in capital markets. You'll also be well equipped with the tools and knowledge required to deal innovatively with the complex organizational, ethical, legislative and financial realities you may face in your career.
