Message to Mentor/Protégé

Thank you for your interest in the Master’s Human Resources Alumni Chapter Mentoring Program!

The process is simple. Here’s how it works:

  • Review the material detailed on the website
  • If you are interested, please complete the Mentor or Protégé Application Form.   Return the form by e-mail to mhralum@yorku.ca
  • Keep a copy for yourself as this form may be useful for your first meeting
  • Mentors will be matched with protégés who have similar interests. This will be done by members of the Mentoring Program Committee (see section for details) based on the forms submitted
  • You will receive an e-mail which will indicate who your mentor or protégé will be by early May 2011
  • An initial launch meeting will be held mid-May 2011
  • The PROTÉGÉ WILL DRIVE THIS PROGRAM, he/she will promptly arrange all meetings thereafter

This program will officially launch in June 2011 and end March 2012 with a minimum of 2 hours per month required by both parties.

Based on the initial launch meeting to be held mid-May 2011, both parties will determine how they would like to interact (i.e., phone calls, in-person meetings, etc.), clearly set their expectations about this relationship and other such details. Note: The Mentoring Committee Council Members will be guiding this program with timely reminders and direction throughout the duration of this initiative.
