Undergraduate Psychology 2110 3.0 Developmental Psychology
This course considers physical, cognitive, intellectual, emotional, and social development from birth through adolescence and the impact of the interaction of these various aspects of development upon the individual as a whole. We will discuss major theoretical and empirical approaches to understanding these different developmental periods and components of development, including recent advances and relevant applications. Issues specific to studying children will also be discussed, including research methods and ethical considerations.
Psychology 4460 6.0 Atypical Development This seminar course is designed to examine different types of developmental disorders that constitute the most frequent reasons for childhood clinical and educational referrals. The clinical features, prevalence, assessment, and treatment will be considered for disorders including some of the following: ADHD, conduct problems, anxiety and mood disorders, mental retardation, autism, and learning disorders. The focus of this course is on critical thinking about the conceptualization, identification, assessment, and treatments of these different disorders.
