Welcome to New College -- Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies

Welcome to New College!

New College

New College was formed on
July 1, 2009, under the Faculty
of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at York University, as the newest of 9 colleges within our institution.

Colleges are Communities (students, staff and faculty) that endeavour to provide the tools for academic achievement and personal success outside of the classroom. We do this by creating a variety of events for our students.  These events offer an opportunity for our students to network and create relationships, while learning valuable tips and tricks from experts in specialized fields. Our goal is to contribute to developing a well rounded individual.

New College's founding members are:

As a student in one of these programs, you will be added to the New College Announcements email distribution list (NC-ANNOUNCE). Our goal is to ensure that students are kept aware of upcoming events.  Communications relayed to you through NC-ANNOUNCE will come from York University, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, New College, our founding members, our affiliated clubs and your student council (NCC). If for some reason you are not receiving our communications, and would like to be included in our distribution list, please email

New College will also offer opportunities to gain leadership experience while building your social and professional network.  Make the most of your university journey by getting involved and gaining experience.
