Workshop

A Prairie Black History Workshop

This workshop will bring together community groups, elders, scholars, genealogists, artists, museum professionals, archivists, and others interested in preserving, exploring, and sharing the history of Blacks on the Canadian Prairies. Presentations will be made in a variety of formats including film/video, formal papers, research commentaries, descriptions of on-going projects and community activities.

The workshop is sponsored by the Black Settlers of Alberta and Saskatchewan Historical Society (BSAS), the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Council of Canadian African and Caribbean Heritage
(CCACH), the Alberta Labour History Institute (ALHI), Stanley A. Milner Library, Edmonton, Alberta, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta
