"Finding a Place: Latin America and the Caribbean in a Transnational Context"

The Latin American and Caribbean Studies Committee at the University of Guelph announces a one-day conference to be held on Friday, March 30, 2007.
The conference committee extends an invitation to all Latin American and Caribbean scholars to participate in this conference.

Title: "Finding a Place: Latin America and the Caribbean in a Transnational Context"

The conference seeks to highlight Latin American and Caribbean cultural uniqueness, and to identify changes which are caused by globalization, as well as to explain acceptance and resistance to foreign cultural and political interventions in the last century.

Please send a 250-300 word abstract for a twenty minute paper to

Chair of the Committee,
gyovanov@uoguelph.ca by January 30th.
A selection committee will view the proposals and confirm acceptance by February 15th.
