Tennis parking changes in effect beginning August 5

The Rogers Cup 2011 women’s tennis tournament will take place at the Rexall Center, York University, from Saturday, August 6 to Sunday, August 14 and will affect parking on the Keele campus as follows:

Reserved tennis parking

The following parking lots/garage will be used for tennis pass holders:

• Founders Road East Visitors Lot
• Founders Road West Lot
• Shoreham Drive Lot 
• Thompson Road Lot
• Arboretum Lane Parking Garage
• Library Lot
• Albany Road Lot

Tennis patrons and participants are required to display valid Tennis Parking Passes to use these lots/garage. With the exception of Shoreham Drive Lot, these lots will be occupied for this event from 7am on Saturday, August 6 until Sunday, August 14 at 9 pm. 

Shoreham Drive Lot will be closed for this event from Friday, August 5 at 7 am until Monday, August 15 midnight..

Please note that Valet parking for the tournament will be off campus at Pioneer Village parking lot.

York parking permit holders

York will minimize the effects to the community by preserving a predetermined quantity of parking spaces for permit holders and by upgrading and/or redirecting permit holders who are displaced during the tournament.

If you are a permit holder in any of the above-listed lots, please refer below for parking during this period. Upgrades to these lots are provided at no additional charge.

• Permit holders in the Founders Road West Lot will be relocated to the Founders Road East Lot.
• Permit holders in the Shoreham Drive Lot will be relocated to the Arboretum Lane Parking Garage.
• Permit holders for Arboretum Lane Parking Garage, Library Lot, Founders’ Road East  Lot, Albany Road Lot, York Boulevard Lot, Student Services Garage, Pond Road  East Lot and Sentinel Road East Lot are unaffected by the tournament arrangements.

Cash pay-on-entry tournament parking

During the tennis event, lots designated for Tennis Canada event cash parking will charge a flat fee of $12 daily for each day of the tournament period.

The lots designated for Tennis Canada event cash parking are as follows:

• Student Services Parking Garage
• Pond Road East Lot
• Sentinel Road East Lot

York visitor/ short-term parking

During the tennis tournament period, visitor and short-term parking will be available in the following lots/garage/roadways for the York community at the current York rates:

• Vanier Lot
• York Lanes Parking Garage
• WOB East Lot
• Atkinson Lot
• Ottawa Road
• Passey Road
• Assiniboine Road
• Fine Arts Road
• Physical Resources Building Lot South
• Northwest Gate Temporary Lot
• Kinsmen Lot

There will be no short-term parking available in the following lots/garages:

• Arboretum Lane Parking Garage
• Thompson Road Visitors Lot
• Founders Road East Visitors Lot
• Student Services Parking Garage

Traffic restriction on campus

For the duration of the tennis tournament, the following road restriction will be in place during the period 9am to midnight from from Saturday, August 6 to Sunday, August 14, inclusive:

• Shoreham Drive between Murray Ross Parkway and Ian Macdonald Boulevard/Pond Road, both east and westbound
