Damage Survey Summaries
Verification of severe weather is of
vital importance to both operations and research. In an operational setting
such as in a forecast office, these data are used to calculate severe weather
warning statistics such as False Alarm Ratio and Probability Of
Detection. In research, these data are vital to studies of severe weather
phenomena and the testing of new remote sensing algorithms.
