SAMPLE EXPERIMENTS

This SAMPLE EXPERIMENTS section was designed to give you hands-on experience in collecting data and drawing conclusions from the data you collect. (Your instructor might assign these experiments as part of the course requirement.)

In Experiment I, you will compare data collected by the three different methods.

In Experiment II, you will examine the effects of varying the lengths of the standard stimulus in measuring the Mueller-Lyer Illusion, and in Experiment III you will examine the Ponzo Illusion using the Method of Adjustment.

It will be helpful if you have a pencil, some scrap paper, and a calculator while working on the experiments. The worksheets page for the three experiments can be downloaded.
