Washington Study Trip
The Washington Study Trip is intended to give students in POLS 3540 the opportunity for experiential learning in relation to US politics. The trip will incorporate academic, practical and even touristic events that will enrich students’ sense of the US political scene and its complexities.
Proposed Dates of Travel: November 14th (evening) departure
November 18th return
Approximate cost of the program:
Accommodation: $300 (based on 2 students per hotel room)
Travel: $300-350
Food: $250 (based on $50/day)
Estimated Total Cost: $800-$850
**The costs of the program are being worked out as we locate the cheapest travel and accommodation arrangements for students, while still locating ourselves somewhat centrally in Washington.
There is a strong chance that a good deal of this cost will be subsidized through the the LAPS faculty, and the form for application, which is quite simple, can be viewed here:

We will need a commitment from students early, in order to start booking airline and accommodation packages. Please email me if you are definitely interested in playing a part in the trip (rloeppky@yorku.ca). I need to first gauge whether there is enough (or too much!) interest among students, and then I will request a deposit in the very near future(amount to be determined).
