Health Education and Promotion, located within Student Community & Leadership Development will be accepting applications for Peer Health
Educators and Volunteers for the 2012-2013 Academic Year from February 14 -
March 16.
Students who work and volunteer for Health Education and Promotion are responsible for providing opportunities for the York community to learn more about relevant health issues. Focus areas include: safer sex, responsible partying, stress management, healthy eating, active living, and smoking cessation. The Peer Health Educators work in outreach teams and provide education and information to the student body in a variety of difference ways including presentations, table displays, newsletters and articles, health fairs, games tables and much more.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Excellent presentation and/or outreach skills
- Prior involvement with leadership activities an asset
- Be able to work well within a team
- Must have a sense of humour
- Have an interest in student health
- Be able to commit to project for the year
- Must be entering second, third or fourth year of study in September 2012
- Be a full-time York University student to be eligible for a paid position
