Alas! that twenty-one long years should have been allowed to pass before the Christian teacher was sent, during which time, no doubt, all the seniors of that band, and scores of others, passed away, dying in pagan darkness. We almost think Mr. Bangs failed in his duty in not obeying that call. But perhaps he thought the "Christian savages" claimed his first regards.
