My recent work investigates the intersections between language, gender and the law. I have recently co-edited (with Miriam Meyerhoff and Janet Holmes) the second edition of The Handbook of Language, Gender and Sexuality, Wiley Blackwell. Current projects include:

A co-edited book (with Diana Eades and Janet Ainsworth) tentatively titled Coercion and Consent in the Legal Process: Discursive and Linguistic Perspectives to be published by Oxford University Press.

A single-authored monograph (in progress) tentatively titled Text Trajectories and Social Inequalities in the Legal System. The book investigates intertextual practices in the legal system, ultimately demonstrating how such an investigation can shed light on larger patterns of social inequalities - both gendered and racial inequalities.
