Lesson Plans All lesson plans are to be developed according to the attached lesson plan guidelines. Academic Conduct Academic honesty is of the utmost importance in any learning environment. Please familiarize yourself with the regulations on plagiarism and cheating in the pre-service teacher education handbook. Permission forms have been developed by the University to ensure that assignments involving students in host schools are conducted ethically. These will be distributed to the host schools in early September. Evaluation Course work and practicum performance are equally important components of ED/JIMA 3020. Candidates must obtain a PASS in the practicum and a mark of C+ or higher in the seminar portion of the course in order to continue in the program. Assignments are due on the dates indicated. If unexpected circumstances arise, candidates are asked to speak to the Course Director prior to the date for submission in order to arrange for an extension. Teacher candidates are asked to submit their assignments to the Course Director personally. Candidates must retain copies of all work submitted. Course Participation Attendance and full participation in practicum seminars (workshops) are essential requirements of this course. In-class assignments will form part of the final evaluation. A candidate who misses more than three sessions will be required to meet with the course director and/or the associate dean. Candidates are expected to ask relevant questions, respond in writing to selected articles/questions, and share information in the form of collected facts and learning materials, students’ work and observations. It is important that teacher candidates try to apply appropriate ideas and activities discussed in each workshop in their host classrooms. Students with Special Needs Students with special needs are asked to contact the
course director within the first week or two of classes so that appropriate
arrangements can be made.
