York University Lions badminton head coach Robert Ha was named the OUA coach of the year on Thursday (Nov. 19) while Kevin Cheng was named an all-star.

Lions to compete for OUA badminton title on home court
The top four OUA badminton teams will be at the Tait McKenzie Centre on Saturday (Nov. 21) to compete for the 2009 OUA championship. Joining the host York University Lions are the Toronto Varsity Blues, Waterloo Warriors and Western Mustangs.

Women’s rugby team rallies around blood drive
The York University Lions women’s rugby team is getting behind the blood drive at York this week and has committed to finding at least 50 donators to give their time and blood to those in need.

Lions swim with the best in Campbell Division Championships
The York University Lions swim team was in Guelph over the weekend (Nov. 14-15) to participate in the Campbell Division Championships against six other Ontario universities. The Lions held their own in the pool through both days.

Tough weekend for Lions volleyball teams
It was a busy weekend for the York University Lions volleyball teams as they took on the Guelph Gryphons and Toronto Varsity Blues. The men dropped both of their games in straight sets with the Gryphons taking a 3-0 win on Friday (Nov. 13), and the Varsity Blues doing the same on Saturday (Nov. 14). The women were also faced with defeat as they conceded their game 3-1 to Toronto.
