Erik Allen   MA Candidate
Erik graduated with his undergraduate degree from Ontario Tech University in 2022 with a double major in Forensic Psychology and Political Science and is excited to be a master’s student at York University in the Interpersonal Perception and Social Cognition Laboratory. He was awarded a Canadian Graduate Scholarship (CGS-M) from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) for the 2022-2023 school year to support his studies. Erik’s broad research interests are clustered in the disciplines known as social cognition and political psychology and include stereotypes and prejudice, implicit biases, social categorization, political cognition, face perception, and memory, among others. His master’s thesis will be examining implicit wealth biases as they relate to socioeconomic disparity in society. He also maintains active involvement with Dr. Kimberley Clow’s research lab at Ontario Tech examining issues related to stigmas attached to individuals who have been wrongfully convicted.
