APPLICATION
When an application is received on-line, it will be placed on the processing list until such time as an offer can be made. Applications must be submitted on-line. We expect to be able to accommodate all applications with an offer.

TENANCY AGREEMENT
All tenants are required to sign a Tenancy Agreement with the University.
As a material covenant of the Tenancy Agreement, applicants are required to meet and maintain the following academic eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must be admitted to the University to submit an application to the York Apartments.
  • Students will be prohibited from taking occupancy if they have any University-related debt.
  • During the course of the tenancy, the tenants must be students in good standing proceeding to a degree and be enrolled in full-time study.

OFFERS OF ACCOMMODATION
All academic information contained in the application will be checked before an offer of accommodation is made. Offers will be made as vacancies become available and applicants should be prepared to accept an offer at any time. Most vacancies occur between May and August. Applicants may specify a preferred occupancy period, however, no guaranteed occupancy date can be given at the time of application.

WHEN YOU CAN EXPECT TO HEAR FROM US
The York University Apartments offer year-round tenancy. When tenants vacate their apartments, they are required to give 60 days notice to vacate. This means that we can normally inform future tenants about availability of apartments 6 to 8 weeks ahead of their requested occupancy dates. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you would like to inquire about the status of your application.

At times, apartments may become available on short notice, and students who are prepared to accept an offer of an apartment at shorter notice may be given priority.

For information of whether you might be offered an apartment, please read the sections on Eligibility and Undergraduate Student Eligibility

Leases may begin on any day of the year, not only on the 1st day of the month. For leases which do not begin on the 1st day of the month, rent will be pro-rated to the date of occupancy as stated on the Tenancy Agreement.
