Dear Colleague;
At present, York University administers its 2,000 plus endowments on parallel systems: an outsourced recordkeeping system that allocates market value and York’s GL (Peoplesoft). York deploys a sub-structure Book Value basis methodology for tracking each endowment –up to 5 components per endowment – that requires a high degree of manual handling and validation due to its cumbersome detail. The methodology has been outgrown, and as is the case for most universities, we are pressed for resources, thus causing efficiency and sustainability to be the key goals of a necessary restructuring.
The objective of this survey is to gather information on how other Canadian institutions successfully handle the administration of their endowments.
