About our project:
Considerable research has assessed the impact of communication technologies from the perspective of undergraduate students and policy makers, but there is little data that speaks to the experiences of Teaching Assistants. This survey is an independent research project housed in the Department of Sociology, funded via the FGS Summer Graduate Assistantship. Our goal is to collect data that will document the experiences of TAs with technologies such as email, WebCT, and course websites.

This on-line survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. You may skip any question at any time, or decide that you don’t want to participate at all. Your privacy is very important to us. Your answers are fully confidential, and your opinions will not be associated with your name, student number or other identifying information.

There are no foreseeable risks to participating in this survey, and there are no direct benefits. It is the hope of the researchers that the survey data will produce a better understanding of the implications of electronic communication technology for York Teaching Assistants. You will be provided with a copy of the summary report should you be interested in the findings of this research. If so, you can fill in an email address of your choice on the last page of the survey.
