The York Research Tower (YRT) is a LEED Silver certified building. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system. York has 5 other buildings that meet LEED certification criteria, including the Lassonde Building, which was one of the first green buildings built in Ontario.
Congratulations to Vanier Residence for winning the 4th annual Res Race to Zero! Vanier's final week average of a 9% per capita drop in energy usage compared to last year led the charge. For the entire Res Race the cumulative net difference was 124.45 kWh! Visit yorku.ca/resrace to see how each residence did this year.
