Making
and Answering Calls
To make a call
- Lift handset. Personal extension is selected
automatically. Dial number.
- Hands-free dialing press line key
to obtain dial tone. Dial number.
To answer a call
- Lift handset. Personal extension is selected.
- If call is on secondary line, press line
key with flashing arrow .
- Hands-free answering press key with
flashing arrow and lift handset.
To disconnect a call
Press RLS (release key) or hang up.
To put call on hold
Press Hold key. Arrow will flash.
To return to caller
Press the extension key next to the flashing
arrow.
Volume
Bar
The volume bar, which is located at the bottom
of the telephone, controls the volume of the handset or ringer.
- Press <<<<< to decrease volume.
- Press >>>>> to increase volume.
LCD Indicator
A steady arrow means that the feature or
line is active. A flashing arrow means that the line is on hold or the
feature is being activated.
Last
Number Redial
To view the last number called from you phone,
lift the handset and press # #. The last number you called will be redialed.
Calling
Line Identification/Call Display
Your phone has a 2-line alpha/numeric display
showing incoming calls. Screen prompts assist you step by step through
procedures keeping you informed on the status of various features.
Call
Blocking
To block your personal information
when you place internal or external calls
- Lift handset
- Press * 6 7 then dial the number.
Private Name/Private Number
will be displayed to the person you are calling.
Auto-Dial
To program auto-dial key
- Press Auto-Dial key. Arrow will flash.
- Key in number and press Auto-Dial again.
To use auto-dial
Lift handset and press Auto-Dial key.
Call Forward
(internal only)
To forward single line phones
- Press Forward key. Arrow will flash.
- Dial the extension of the person who will
be taking your calls.
- Press Forward key again. Arrow will remain
steady.
To cancel forwarding on single line
phones
Press the Forward key. Arrow will disappear.
To forward multi-line phones
- Press the Forward key plus the line you
are forwarding. Arrow will flash.
Dial the extension.
- Press Forward key again. Line is forwarded.
- Repeat for each line to be forwarded.
To cancel forwarding on multi-line
phones
- Press Forward key plus line key and #
- Repeat for each line forwarded.
Call Waiting
If you receive a call while you are already
on a call, you will hear a tone and the
Call Wait key will flash.
To answer the call waiting
Press Call Wait key. Your first call is put
on hold and you are connected
to the second call.
To return to the original call
Press the flashing line key. The other caller
is put on hold automatically.
Transfer/Conference
To transfer a call (internal calls
only)
- Press the Transfer key. The caller is put
on hold and you will hear a dial tone. Dial the extension number.
- Wait for answer, then announce the call
and press the RLS key or hang up. The parties are now connected.
- If the line is busy, there is no answer,
or you reach voicemail press the Transfer key twice to reconnect to
the caller.
To set up 3-way conference call
- Make your first call. Press Transfer key.
Caller is put on hold and you hear dial tone.
- Dial next number. Once second call is established
press Transfer key to join calls.
- If the line is busy or there is no answer,
press the Transfer key twice to reconnect to original call.
Call Park
Call Park allows you to park a call on your
extension for retrieval from another phone.
To park a call
Press Park key. Caller hears a beep.
To retrieve a parked call
- Go to the phone you wish to use.
- Lift handset and press Park key.
- Dial extension where the call is parked.
To park a call without a Park key
Press Transfer key plus * 7 9. Call is now
parked on your extension.
To retrieve a parked call without a
Park key
- Lift handset
- Press # 7 9 and dial the extension where
the call is parked.
Group Call
Pick Up
Telephones assigned in call pick
up groups may answer calls placed to any phone in the group.
To answer a call using call pick up
- Lift handset
- Press Call Pick Up key. Call is now on your
extension.
To answer a call without a Call Pick
Up key
- Lift handset.
- Press * 3 0. Call is now on your extension.
Personal
Speed Call
A list of 10 frequently dialed numbers may
be programmed into your phone.
To program personal speed call
- Press Speed Call key. Arrow will flash.
Dial the number 0 through 9 you wish to program. Enter the telephone
number. Remember to include 9 if an external number.
- Press Speed Call key again.
To use personal speed call
- Lift handset and press Speed Call key.
- Dial the number 0 through 9. The programmed
number will be dialed automatically.
System
Speed Call
Automatically dials pre-programmed numbers
of other universities & colleges across Canada using 3 digits only.
Consult internal directory for the list of 3 digit codes.
To access system speed call
- Lift handset
- Press # 6 0 and dial the 3-digit code.
Program
Key (Display Phones only)
The Program key allows you to make adjustments
to various settings on your telephone, such as volume, contrast, call
timer, language selection and click option.
To make programming changes
- Press Program key. You
will see the following:
00 Volume Adjustment Select or Scroll
- Use the Volume Control
key to scroll through the available selections. To make a selection
dial the number shown on the screen.
Volume Adjustment (00)
1= ringer, 2=buzzer, 3=speaker, 4=handset
5=handsfree
Use Volume Control bar to
increase or decrease the volume. Press Program key
to save the change.
Pre-dial Recall (01)
The most recently pre-dialed number appears.
Press the Program key. You may edit the number using
the Volume Control key or dial it by pressing the line
key. Press Program key to save change.
Contrast Adjustment (02)
Use the Volume Control key
to increase or decrease contrast. Press Program key
to save change.
Caller Timer Enable (03)
Press either side of the Volume Control
key to change the call timer setting. Press Program
key to save change.
Idle Screen Format (Date &Time)
(04)
Use the Volume Control key
to scroll through the possible selections. Press Program
key to save change.
Language Selection (05)
Use the Volume Control key
to scroll through the selections available. Enter the number for the
language you want and press Program key to save the
change.
Key Click (09)
Press either side of the Volume Control
key to turn the key click on or off. Press Program
key to save change.

Instructions for Initiated Mailboxes
To log on from your office
- Dial 55111
- Enter your password
- Press #
To log on from outside the university
- Dial (416) 736-5111
- Enter your 5 digit mailbox number
- Enter password
- Press #
To record a personal greeting
From main menu press 4 3 1
To record your name
From main menu press 4 3 3
To change your password
- From main menu press 4 2 1
- And follow the promts
To listen to your messages
- From main menu press 1
- Press 7 to delete message or 9 to save it.
Tips:
- To rewind press 1
- To fast forward press 3
- To skip to next message press #
- To hear the number that called and the time and date press 5
To
forward a message to another mailbox
- Before deleting or saving the message press

- Record an introduction and press #
- Enter destination mailbox and press #
- If no more destinations press # again to
send message.
To
reply to a message
- Before deleting or saving message press

- Record reply and press #.
- Press # to send message.
