About Us. The Office of University Events and Community Relations (UECR) at York University is the resource for event planners campus-wide and external organizations who want to bring their meetings to York. York has the facilities and services and UECR has the staff to assist you in producing a professional function. The Office is also the point of contact for the University and external community to facilitate community engagement.
Ceremonials. There are numerous ceremonials and special events that take place annually. Whether it's Convocation, the Remembrance Day ceremony, building openings and groundbreakings, or the Installations of the President and Chancellor, the UECR is responsible for planning, managing and producing these events.
Community Relations. The UECR is the point of contact for the University and its neighbouring communities. In this role the Office works to facilitate and coordinate University/community engagement through a variety of initiatives. In this role, UECR supports York in its ability to fulfill the following objectives.
Conference Management. The UECR is the one-stop source for advice and service for meetings and conferences. Whether you are a member of a University faculty or department, a student group, professional organization or an external organization we offer the expertise required to make your conference or meeting a success.
Visitor Services. The UECR will help ensure that a visit to York by a high-profile guest is properly arranged and orchestrated, and that consistent standards, protocols and operational considerations are observed.
Event Planning. The UECR advises, assists and, in some cases, produces events for both academic and administrative units. We work to ensure that each event meets its outlined strategic goals and objectives, advise on protocol and special requirements related to hosting high profile guests.
