Thank You for the Best Year Yet!

2011 Campaign Co-Chairs Patrick J. Monahan, Vice-President Academic and Provost, and Jennifer M. Sloan, outgoing Vice-President University Relations, put the challenge to the community, and we have risen to meet it!

Thank you for your generous support of the campaign over the month of November!  With your help, we have seen a significant increase in individual donor participation and the number of special events, and have surpassed dollars raised in the previous year’s campaign by a leap.  Go York!

Included in our special events this year are the newly added student-led fundraisers through York is U, Sport Athletic Council and the Students Stand Up Against Homelessness Club.  We would like to recognize your participation and thank you for joining our campaign!

Last, but certainly not least, a big thank you to the Bookstore, Aramark, The Underground Restaurant, York Federation of Students, Instructional Technology Centre, and Mailing Services for their contributions in support of various aspects of the campaign, including donations of space, services and products.

The following is a list of the events that occurred during the campaign, and we are pleased to report that a cumulative total of $9,196.05 was raised, and continues to climb as the last of the donations are submitted.  In addition, there were 275 volunteers, plus over 4,000 participants who offered their support:

All proceeds of this event will be donated to North York Food Bank in partnership with Food4Thought, York’s on-campus food bank.  Food4Thought was recently featured on the front of Excalibur . A separate portion of money, also raised by York is U, will go directly to United Way’s Community Fund.
