Rhodes Scholarship Information
Are you an outstanding student approaching your final year of an Honours program at York University? Do you have a significant record of extracurricular or community activity which demonstrates your leadership capabilities? Do you have a sound academic reason for continuing your studies at the University of Oxford in England after graduation from York? If so, then you should consider becoming a candidate for a Rhodes Scholarship.
The Rhodes Scholarship is perhaps the best known and most prestigious of all the externally funded postgraduate scholarship awards. It offers an opportunity to study at University of Oxford for two or three years after receiving your undergraduate degree.
The Rhodes Scholarship program has a long history of producing prominent Rhodes Scholars from around the world who have achieved eminence in public life. Canadian Rhodes Scholars have gone on to become Governor General of Canada, Prime Minister, premiers of several provinces, members of Parliament, justices in various courts including the Supreme Court of Canada, presidents of numerous universities and scientists of world-wide distinction. York University has had five Rhodes Scholars in its short history.
