Are you wondering about Orientation? Are you interested in learning more about scholarships, bursaries and budgeting? Are you confused about navigating the Web site, finding the best way to get to campus or deciding which residence is best for you? If you have questions about how to make a smooth transition to university, then York's RED Zone is the place for you and the best time to visit is when you're on campus for your Enrolment Appointment.

The RED Zone is only one of a bundle of ways that York has to help you make that transition to university. Over the summer, keep an eye out for more hints and tips about the academic, social and emotional move to university life.

For example, you might be wondering how you'll make friends on a large campus or what opportunities you'll have to get involved in your new community. The range and number of clubs, newspapers and student governments means that you'll have no shortage of organizations to join. If you'd rather just casually interact, your classes and social events around campus are the perfect places to make friends.

Keep an eye on your inbox: we'll give you the heads-up about topics such as what to expect in your classes, what a typical day for a York student is like and all the little things that will help you find your place at York.

Want to get started now? Check out this video from Brian Poser, Manager of Student Organizations and Activities, at Student Community & Leadership Development.

York does more than provide opportunities for bursaries, scholarships and other financial aid. When budgeting for your first year of university, be sure to plan for not only your tuition but also for the other costs you’ll face. You may have to buy textbooks and other course materials such lab coats, art supplies and notebooks. Your fees also support athletics and recreation, counselling and other key student services.
