Business Administration In their most recent global surveys, Schulich is ranked in the top tier of the world's best business schools and #1 in Canada by The Wall Street Journal, The Economist (EIU), Forbes and the US think tank The Aspen Institute. The Schulich School of Business offers two of Canada's most prestigious degrees: the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and the International Bachelor of Administration (iBBA). In both of these professional programs, you'll study with professors who also teach in our highly respected MBA and PhD programs. They'll provide you with a strong foundation in business that goes beyond the traditional areas of commerce and economics. Management is about more than numbers. It is first and foremost about organizations and people -- their perspectives, their social and cultural identities, their needs, motivations and desires. That's why Schulich's programs encompass much more than the study of economics and commerce. Schulich offers a well-rounded program of study that includes a wide range of topics and issues that prepare students to deal with the complex human dynamics that form the core of business activity. The Bachelor of Business Administration program at the Schulich School of Business provides a thorough, rigorous education in management, combined with a broad liberal arts education. Students study business from day one with first year courses in Applied Business Ethics, Business History, Financial Accounting, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. If you're thinking of working abroad or pursuing a career with a multinational corporation, the iBBA's required international study term and language study components provide ideal preparation. By carefully selecting management elective courses in upper years, you can specialize in one or more of the following areas of specialization:
In addition to core business courses, each year students may take one or two non-business courses. What makes Business Administration unique? Carly Fiorina, then chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, unveiled a $2-million endowment, set up by Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co. in collaboration with York's Schulich School of Business, during her delivery of Schulich's annual James Gillies Alumni Lecture. The prestigious endowment is for the Hewlett-Packard Chair in Corporate Social Responsibility. Alumnus Paul Tsaparis joined Hewlett-Packard in 1984, the same year he graduated from York's MBA program. As HP Canada president and CEO since 1998, he was instrumental in forging a technology partnership between the Schulich School of Business and Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co. York's Schulich School of Business also offers an International Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Interested in other Business programs at York? |
