Criminology IMPORTANT NOTE: Criminology is not a pre-law preparatory program. Are you interested in crime and punishment? Find out how different societies have defined and deterred "crime." Consider the social, political and economic factors that have influenced the criminal justice system now and in the past. The Criminology program will focus on the analysis of crime, criminality, delinquence and social control, organized crime, systems of justice and murders and crimes in the 21st Century. You will also examine the culture of crime by looking at literature produced by people in prison and exile. The theoretical and methodological approaches central to criminology are complemented by a number of disciplines including anthropology, history, political science, sociology, philosophy and psychology.
