Political Science Our program focuses encompasses the actions of governments, political parties and the courts as well as political movements and the power relations of everyday life. You'll gain a comprehensive understanding of critical issues facing our world and the political context in which they exist while acquiring in-demand analytical and communication skills. Outside the classroom, we hold seminars, workshops and films throughout the year and our Undergraduate Political Science Council offers tutoring and mentoring programs with upper-year students. What makes Political Science unique? You can study with Professor James Laxer, one of Canada's best known Political economists. Prof Laxer has written more than a dozen books on major aspects of Canada's political economy and is also a prominent journalist and media personality. Professor Saeed Rahnema is an expert on the Middle East and political economy and teaches a popular course on War and Peace in the Middle East. He makes frequent radio and TV appearances, is often cited in the print media and for the past three years has been named one of York's most popular professors in the Macleans' magazine ranking of universities issue! York also offers Programs in Global Political Studies and Public Policy and Administration. |
