World @ Noon: Flamenco En Vivo!

Roger Scannura is an internationally recognized flamenco guitarist and a leading exponent of Nuevo Flamenco. Immersed in music since early childhood, he mastered the techniques and nuances of flamenco guitar while studying in Spain for 12 years under the auspices of Pepe Habichuela and other gypsy masters.

Scannura has toured Europe and North America as a soloist and music director for several flamenco dance companies. He is also a founder of the acclaimed Toronto-based dance company Ritmo Flamenco.

Scannura teaches flamenco guitar and guitar ensemble in York's Department of Music.

In this concert, he performs selections from his new CD Vida Flamenca as well as other inspiring compositions, accompanied by dancer   Anjelica Scannura and musician Valeria Scannura on  cajon and palmas.
