Vox Humana: A Reading
Oct 30, 2012, 12:45-2PM
As part of the 2012 series of the FES Sustainable Writing Lab, "The Poetics of Sustainability," Alex Pierce will read from her recent book, Vox Humana (Brick Books, 2012), to be followed by a discussion and book signing.
Vox Humana has been described as "wide, beautifully crafted family reminiscences; Bach and Beethoven; Raphael and Goltzios; Shakespeare; the Greek Myths and the fate of the Romanovs. But whatever the subject, the real strength of Pierce's work lies in the richness of its landscape, which is forever opening out before us, transfigured by an inner music and wonder and light." Alex will also be giving a workshop from 2:30 to 4pm. Details TBA. Everyone is welcome to attend.
