The Department of English presents Seth Lerer- Hamlet and the Lyric Stage Nov 7, 2012, 2:30-4:30PM Seth Lerer, dean of arts and humanities and Distinguished Professor of Literature at the University of California at San Diego, will deliver a talk about Hamlet and the lyric stage. He is the author of many books and articles on Medieval Studies, Renaissance studies, comparative philology, history of scholarship and children’s literature. He won the 2010 Truman Capote Award for Literary Criticism and the 2009 National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism for Children’s Literature: A Readers’ History from Aesop to Harry Potter. His forthcoming book is Prospero’s Son: Life, Books, Love, and Theater, a memoir that will be published in the spring.
