Plenary talks - H.G. Adler: Life, Literature, Legacy Nov 11, 2012, 4:30-6:30PM Two speakers will deliver plenary talks delving into the world of H.G. Adler, his life, literature and legacy, including his son Professor Jeremy Adler, King's College London, who will present, "The World of My Father's Memory Writing: The Gesamtkunstwerk of H.G. Adler". Professor Lawrence L. Langer, scholar of Holocaust literature, will follow with a talk, titled "Holocaust Fact and Holocaust Fiction: The Dual Vision of H.G. Adler". Hans Gunther Adler survived Theresienstadt, Auschwitz, and Buchenwald, and in the aftermath published 26 books of fiction, poetry, history, philosophy and social science. Recent English translations of his works into English from German have revealed Adler to be one of the most important writers of the Holocaust.
