Exhibition: 'Grow a Pair' by Larissa Kucharyshyn and Joy Wong Nov 19, 2012 to Nov 30, 2012, 10-4PM Grow a Pair is a joint exhibition of mixed media by Larissa Kucharyshyn and Joy Wong that explores ideas of feminist culture. Topics include sexuality, beauty, religion, control, and socio-political gender norms, from both recent history and contemporary contexts. Motifs present include the use of standard feminine pieces of clothing, textiles, and religious symbols, and items seen in pairs: stockings, tights, legs, eyes, breasts, lips, genitals.
A collection of mixed media ranging from sculpture and photography to oil painting, text-based images and printmaking, Grow A Pair presents the meeting point of past feminist theory with present concerns of young female artists. About the Artists
