Design Rationale

The idea behind this countdown to have numbers taken with
a camera in the surrounding environment to present a countdown leader.

The theme used is taken from the church music worship during the sunday. It is a mixture of traditional and comtemporary protrayal of the set shown with traditional hymn boards and modern technology. The countdown clip protrays a series of events that occur before the worship session begins.

It starts with showing the Hymn number and it progresses through to the end where the piano is played. In between, scripture reading and cell phone (turning off) is all taking place at that time.

Each scene or image, has been tinted with a yellow-greenish glow. This was added because it draws the whole countdown together. All the pictures might seem to be different from each other, but by changing all the pictures into a common tint, it unifies it by giving a common element throughout the clip.

The music is "Devil's Haircut" by Beck. The reason this song is used is to bring a small sense of irony in the church where in the christian faith, the devil is lurking at the church bringing with him the spiritual warfare. In this sense the music cleverly blends in with a contrast of good and evil.
