YCAR's annual Welcome Back Event was the Centre's first event of the new academic year. About 30 faculty and graduate students turned out to enjoy Indian snacks, including vegetable samosas and mango lasses, and hear about YCAR, its diploma program as well as upcoming events for the new academic year.
 
Director Peter Vandergeest was happy to see many new faces in the crowd, evidence of a strong interest in Asian Studies, especially among incoming graduate students.
